Terms of Service

The terms that govern this website and access to the CrowdBuilder software.

Last updated 7 September 2026

1. Who we are

CrowdBuilder is owned and operated by Waybound AS, a limited company registered in Norway under organisation number 937 496 184, with its registered office in Oslo. The company trades as Waybound.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "Waybound" mean Waybound AS, and "you" means the organisation using this website, the web app or the CrowdBuilder software.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to three things, and it matters which one you are using:

  • This website. Public pages, product and pricing information, and the demo request form.
  • The web app. What sits behind sign-in: your account, your organisation, your licence, and the releases you download.
  • The CrowdBuilder software. What you download and run on your own machines and servers, under the licence in section 5.

Where you also have a signed agreement with us and it conflicts with these terms, that agreement wins.

Product descriptions, roadmap statements and pricing indications on the public pages are informational and do not by themselves create a contract.

3. Accounts

Using CrowdBuilder starts with an account in the web app. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you register, for keeping your credentials secure, and for everything done under your account.

Accounts are organisational. Your organisation can approve one or more email domains, and we use those to admit the right people to the right organisation, so an account is only as private as the domain it sits under. An administrator in your organisation can add and remove users, and we act on their instructions.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where an organisation asks us to. You may close your account at any time by asking us.

4. Buying a licence

CrowdBuilder is sold to organisations, not to consumers. By ordering, you confirm you are acting for a business or other organisation and not as a consumer.

CrowdBuilder is in design-partner rollout, and Team and Enterprise access is scoped with us directly rather than sold from the public pages. There is no card checkout: once your plan is agreed we invoice your organisation, and settling the invoice is what opens the release downloads to your account.

Fees, the licence term, the number of users covered, renewal, support and any service levels are the ones set out in your order or agreement. Prices are exclusive of VAT and any other applicable taxes unless the order says otherwise. Payment is due by the date on the invoice, and overdue amounts may carry interest at the rate set under the Norwegian Late Payment Interest Act.

If an invoice stays unpaid after we have told you it is overdue and given you a reasonable period to settle it, we may suspend downloads and access to the web app until it is paid. Software already installed in your environment is unaffected by that suspension.

Because CrowdBuilder is delivered as software you download and run yourself, a licence that has been made available for download is not returnable. If something is wrong with what you received, tell us and we will put it right.

5. Your licence

Subject to payment and to these terms, we grant your organisation a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the CrowdBuilder software on your own infrastructure, for your own internal business purposes, for the term and user count you bought.

The licence does not transfer ownership of anything. You may not sublicense it, resell it, share your downloads outside your organisation, or use it to provide a service to third parties without our written agreement. When the licence ends, your right to use the software ends with it.

6. How CrowdBuilder is deployed

CrowdBuilder runs on your own infrastructure. It is delivered as software you install and operate, not as a hosted service we run on your behalf. Your repositories, specifications, prompts and generated artifacts stay on your machines.

Because you operate the deployment, you are responsible for:

  • The infrastructure CrowdBuilder runs on, and its security, availability and backups.
  • Access control for your own users and any credentials or API keys you configure.
  • Any third-party AI model providers you connect, including your accounts and spend with them.
  • Ensuring your use of the software complies with the law and with your own internal policies.

7. Third-party AI providers

CrowdBuilder is a harness over AI coding tools and model providers. Which providers are connected, and what leaves your network, is your configuration decision. If you connect an external provider, your prompts and context are sent to that provider and their terms and privacy practices apply to that processing. We are not a party to that relationship and do not control it.

If you connect no external provider, no prompt or code content is sent to us or to any third party by us.

8. Acceptable use

Your use of this website and of CrowdBuilder is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: nothing unlawful, nothing that attacks us or anyone else, and no defeating the governance controls the product exists to enforce.

Separately, and as a condition of licence, you must not reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of any component supplied in object form, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded, and you must not resell, sublicense or provide the software as a service to third parties without our written agreement.

9. Your content and intellectual property

You keep ownership of everything you bring to or create with CrowdBuilder: your source code, specifications, plans, tasks, generated artifacts and run history. Because these stay in your environment, we acquire no rights in them and no licence to use them.

We keep ownership of CrowdBuilder itself: the software, its interfaces, documentation, and this website including its text, layout and graphics. Your written agreement grants you a licence to use the software; it does not transfer ownership.

If you send us feedback, ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve our products without obligation or payment to you. You do not have to send us feedback.

10. AI-generated output

CrowdBuilder orchestrates AI systems that generate code and other artifacts. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, insecure or unsuitable, and can resemble other material. The platform applies quality gates, vulnerability scanning and verification, and records runs on a tamper-evident audit trail. These reduce risk; they do not guarantee correctness.

You are responsible for reviewing generated output before you rely on it or put it into production. We do not warrant that generated output is accurate, secure, non-infringing or fit for any particular purpose.

11. Website and web app availability

The website and the web app are provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of them at any time, and we do not promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free. Any service levels are the ones set out in your order or agreement.

The software you have downloaded keeps running on your own infrastructure regardless. It does not depend on the web app being reachable, so an outage on our side does not stop your work.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this website and any pre-release or design-partner access to the software are provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Warranties for licensed software, where given, are set out in your written agreement.

13. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or gross negligence.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by Norwegian law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or loss or corruption of data arising from your use of this website or of AI-generated output.

Liability arising from licensed use of the software is governed by the liability provisions of your written agreement.

14. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Data Processing summary and GDPR statement, all published on this page. How we secure the product is described under Security.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and our legal obligations change. The version published here is the current one, and the "last updated" date above shows when it changed. Material changes to a written agreement are handled under that agreement, not here.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes arising from them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, with Oslo District Court as the agreed venue at first instance, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

If you are a consumer in the EEA, mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence continues to apply and nothing here removes those rights.
