Cookie Policy

The cookies and browser storage this website uses, and how to turn them off.

Last updated 7 September 2026

This policy covers cookies and similar storage on the CrowdBuilder website. The CrowdBuilder software itself runs on your own infrastructure, so nothing described here applies to your deployment.

1. What we mean by cookies

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. The same rules cover other browser storage such as local storage and session storage, so we describe those here too rather than leaving them out on a technicality.

We keep this to the minimum the product needs, plus one analytics tool. Some of it is set by us, and the sign-in session is set by our Better Auth account service at account.crowdbuilder.ai.

2. Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the public website is used: which pages people read, how they arrived, and where they drop off. It is deployed through Google Tag Manager, which is the container that loads it. We use both for the website only; neither is embedded in the CrowdBuilder software.

Tag Manager does not set cookies of its own. It decides which tags run. It is bound by the same choice: your consent is passed to it before any tag loads, and a tag that would set analytics cookies does not run until you have agreed. If we add another tag through it in future, this page is updated before that tag goes live.

CookieSet byPurposeExpires
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted2 years
_ga_<property id>Google AnalyticsKeeps session state for the specific analytics property2 years

These are not strictly necessary for the website to work, so under Norwegian electronic communications law and the GDPR they require your consent. Analytics stays switched off until you give it: we ask when you first arrive, nothing is set if you decline or ignore the question, and you can change your mind at any time using the control in section 5.

Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager may transfer data to the United States. See the Privacy Policy for the safeguards that apply to those transfers.

3. Storage the product needs

Apart from analytics, the only things stored are the ones the product needs in order to work. These are strictly necessary, so they do not require your consent, but you should still know what they are. None of them is used for tracking, and none is shared with anyone.

ItemPurposeCleared when
Cookie choiceRemembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we do not ask again on every visitYou select "Ask me again" below, or clear site data
Voting identifierA random value that stops one browser voting twice on an embedded voting board. It is not linked to your identity and tells us nothing about youYou clear site data
Account sessionSet by our Better Auth account service at account.crowdbuilder.ai when you sign in. It keeps you signed in to account management. The public marketing pages do not need an account sessionYou sign out, or clear site data
Interface preferencesRemembers small layout choices inside a signed-in session, such as whether the navigation is collapsedYou clear site data

Clearing this storage signs you out. The public pages still work. The site has simply forgotten your session and your preferences.

4. What we do not use

  • No advertising or remarketing cookies.
  • No social media tracking pixels.
  • No cross-site tracking, fingerprinting or data broker tags.
  • No session recording or heatmap tools.

5. Your choices

You can also:

  • Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear site storage, for all sites or for this one.
  • Google Analytics opt-out. Google publishes a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data on any site you visit.
  • Ask us. Email privacy@waybound.ai and we will remove analytics data associated with you where we can identify it.

Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on the website's functionality. Blocking all storage will stop you from staying signed in.

6. Changes

If we add or remove a cookie or a tool that uses one, we update this page. The "last updated" date shows when it last changed.
